Class Description

All  classes offer a compassionate yoga style that invite you to create the practice that is appropriate for your body and your energy level in each moment. The YogaBliss studio provides a sanctuary to wander through the yogic journey uncovering the layers that bring inner peace and contentment.

KRIPALU YOGA~ This hatha yoga class is a meditation in motion. The class is aimed toward promoting physical and emotional wellbeing as we journey towards self-discovery. Yoga postures, philosophy, breath work and relaxation methods are taught to promote grace, flexibility, strength, balance, coping skills and stress reduction. This moderate class is appropriate for beginners or those who already have a practice but want to focus more on self-healing and relaxation. Modification are provided and encouraged.

RESTORATIVE YOGA~ In this very gentle yoga class we use lots props for support so we can hold the poses longer (up to 10 minutes). Just like in life, when we feel supported it is easier to relax. In the process of “letting go” we not only let go of physical tension in the body but also the habituated tension in the mind. Many students say they sleep better and feel calm and at peace after class. This is a beautiful practice to counteract all the stresses of daily living.

FLOW YOGA~ This class offers more of a vinyasa (flow) style incorporating the moon and sun salutation into the journey. The evening class is slower and more meditative like the sunset and the morning class is more lively and invigorating like the sunrise. Both classes will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized!

YIN YOGA~ This class takes more of a feminine approach by stretching the body when the muscles are cool and holding the poses for 3-5 minutes in order to target the deep connective tissues, ligaments and joints.  This is a wonderful balance to the usual “Yang” style of Yoga that only targets the muscles.  Yin Yoga invites a greater range of motion, calmer heart and mind, and will stimulate the healing flow of energy in the body.

CORE YOGA~ This class has a focus on strengthening the core muscles of the body, including your abdominal muscles, back muscles and the muscles around the pelvis. A strong core enhances balance and stability and can help prevent falls and injuries in any activity.
