Yoga Philosophy and Sanskrit Study

Yoga isn’t something you do on a yoga mat, it is a practice that has the capability of transforming your life so you can be happy and free. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, and many of the ancient yogic texts, are maps that can guide you to living your life fully.
We will be studying the history and philosophy of yoga, as well the Sacred Sanskrit language. As we study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali we will discover this intriguing philosophy and psychology of yoga that teaches the ethics of nonviolence, honesty, patience and respect. We will also delve into the two thousand year old spiritual classic called the Bhagavad Gita, a timeless dialogue between the fable archer, Arjuna, and his divine mentor, Krishna. We will contemplate on how this story is relevant in our day and how it can help guide us on our own journey in discovering our true calling in life- what spiritual teachers call dharma. As we study this rich tradition we will peel the layers to the True-self within and it will add depth to your practice on and off the mat.
