Pranayama Training

Pranayama (literally “to release life energy from its bounds”) is considered a vitally important part of traditional Hatha Yoga. When performed correctly, this powerful form of conscious breathwork reveals the intricate web of your thoughts, physiology, and energetic patterns—helping you learn to quiet the mind, heighten receptivity, and bring balance to your body.

In this training we will explore and practice several pranayama techniques. Our study will also include:

  • the anatomy of breathing and the respiratory system, and diaphragmatic mobilization
  • the five Vayus (winds) of prana that all have very subtle yet distinct energetic qualities, including specific functions and directions of flow
  • the physical, psychological and therapeutic benefits of yoga breathing, along with the precautions and contraindications of specific techniques
  • the effects of pranayama from an Ayurvedic view of how to balance the Doshas

COST:
$300 plus HST
$50 deposit required when register to hold your spot (non-refundable)
A Certificate will be given for 11 hours towards achieving your 500 hour certificate with the Canadian Yoga Alliance
