All are welcome to join us to learn the basic steps of this delicious practice of Yoga Nidra, what each step leads to, and the benefits that you will realize along the way. You will take home a practice you can implement into your own life and share with others. At it’s minimum Yoga Nidra will lead you to experience profound relaxation, the release of chronic stress, restful sleep, resolution to many of life’s mysteries, and a greater sense of harmony in your daily life and relationships. In its ultimate revelation, Yoga Nidra points directly to your True Nature, to peace that is beyond description and is your birthright. This peace is not an empty promise for only for a selected few, but is present and available to you right now!

The training is based on Satyananda Yoga Nidra, a technique adapted by Swami Satyananda Saraswati from the traditional tantric practice of nysasa and will cover:

  • Information on the historical, biological and psychological foundations of Yoga Nidra
  • Current research on the therapeutic impact of Yoga Nidra
  • The study of the Koshas (sheaths of the body) and the step by step technique of entering into deeper states of stillness
  • The 9 steps to Yoga Nidra and how to create your own practice to share with others

Yoga Nidra is done lying down and is often referred to as Divine Sleep. It is a guided meditative journey that has the power to transform, heal and rejuvenate you at core levels. Yoga Nidra allows you to access deeper levels so that you can dissolve away tensions and connect with your True Self. This practice is like taking a break from everyday concerns and helps to dissolve limiting beliefs that hold you back from living life to your fullest potential. and you take a break from everyday concerns.  Limiting beliefs that hold you back from fully living dissolve, leading to freedom within your mind and body.  Divine Sleep opens you up to living your fullest potential.

Anyone can practice Yoga Nidra and there is no way to practice incorrectly. Even if you fall asleep you will still receive the benefits of the practice. It is like getting an ultimate power nap as 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equated with 3 hours of sleep. This practice has been used successfully to aid insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, pain, cardiovascular and many other health issues.

$300 plus HST
$50 deposit required when register ($25 non-refundable)

A Certificate will be issued upon completion of the Training for 15 hours towards continuing yoga education (CYA-RYT300)
